Driver License Examiner Assistant

The Driver License Examiner Assistant is assigned to a Driver License Center that provides driver licensing services and associated services to the public. Work involves direct contact with customers by means of verification of applicant identification, completion of applications, as well as entering information into on-line driver application software.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Examiner assistants must be capable of performing all counter processing functions, with no more than two exceptions per rating period that require supervisor intervention.

Examiner assistants have knowledge and understanding of policies, procedures that is set forth by the Bureau of Driver Licensing.

Demonstrate a basic knowledge of state, federal laws and regulations, which impact the driver Licensing Program. The driver license examiner assistant is assigned to a driver license center that provide driver licensing services and associated services to the public. Work involves direct contact with customers.

Utilize a personal computer to data enter required information from bureau forms.

Administers standard knowledge tests to evaluate the applicant's understanding of motor vehicle code, driving laws, and associated traffic control devices. A vision screening for visual acuity is given to all applicants using optical equipment.

Data entry for applicant's test results and customer applications for driver license services into on-line software systems using a PC terminal.

Strictly adheres to all aspects of Safety Administration Customer Service Policy.

Performs other related duties required.

This position requires overtime and travel.

Work Hours: 8:15 am-4:45 pm, Tuesday thru Saturday; Half-Hour lunch
